TIME-to-PLAYSTATION is a prototype of a vibrant and educational urban playscape. The open space aims to bridge the collective memory with interactive installations among all the Choi Hung Road Playground visitors.
Prior to the Choi Hung Road Playground, the area was well-known for being ‘Kai Tak Amusement Park’ in the past. Together with the proximate industrial, commercial, and residential buildings and traces, these places comprised the collective history and memory of the district and the people.
The proposed playscape consists of five checkpoints that address a specific time and event. Therefore, the checkpoints accumulate the ‘past, present, and future’ in one open space. The proposal aims to revitalize the site by spreading happiness and recalling collective memory among the community.
